A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai) Empty A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai)

Sat Dec 09, 2017 11:47 pm
It was a perfectly stormy day in the Kaminari no Kuni, the cloud covered sky arc'd with the very lightning that was all to common in this country named for it. The air was practically palpable with electricity setting the young Shadow of this land's tongue a tingling, the lightning storm that was brewing today was exceptionally potent, causing him to want to do anything but sit around in his office. So Mitsukai, the Raikage, head of the village hidden in the clouds, left a clone behind to do the paperwork while he himself shirked his duties. Traveling the countryside hoping to find some random bandits, or well just about anyone that he could comfortably draw one of his blades against.

The young shadow, had forgone his normal Kage's robe and hat, wearing the outfit of a jounin, his weapons carefully sheathed where they would be easily accessible, yet not hinder his combat skills under a cloak, his dragon staff had been transformed courtesy of Henge no jutsu into that of a normal walking stick. All in all Mitsukai looked like a regular traveler, an easy target. Here is hoping someone will bite...

A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai) Empty Re: A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai)

Takeshi had been wandering again, with no particular goal in mind, face hidden beneath a plain rice hat. It seemed he had ended somewhere in the land of lightning. Not his most favourite of places if he were to be honest. His thoughts were quickly shaken by a band of roving bandits. Even the most keen eye would see him as little more than a wandering vagrant, due to the shabby clothes. He was quickly surrounded, not too far up the road from where the Raikage himself had been looking for a chance to test out his own skill. "Think ya can just pass through here without paying the toll? Fork it over" the rogue shinobi would sigh audibly, hand falling to his blade as he prepared to deal with the situation at hand.

Mitsukai would come across the road at the very end of the short 'battle', seeing what could only be described as a storm of steel before the mad would shake the blood off his blade. Letting his victims fall to let him pass. From what little the Uchiha had seen, he could tell that this was no ordinary vagrant. There were few who could handle a blade with such effortless precision. Takeshi would continue up the road, in direct path of the Raikage, showing no signs of exhaustion from the previous battle. He couldn't quite make out the man's face, but there was something familiar about him.

A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai) Empty Re: A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai)

As Mitsukai rounded a bend he came across exactly what he had been looking for, however it seems that someone else had taken care of them before him. What little the Uchiha could gleam from the rather quick work he made of the bandits, combined with the appearance of this vagrant brought to him flashes of a particular bounty he remembered from the Bingo Books, a S-class rogue known for his mastery of the blade, A Moriyama Takeshi. Positioning himself in the path of the traveling vagrant Mitsukai would call out to him, "Good Day sir, I must thank you for taking care of those bandits before they tried to hassle me, May I ask of you your name? Oh how rude of me, I should introduce myself. I am called Mitsukai, a pleasure."

Should Takeshi try to force his way past the young Raikage, Mitsukai would follow, being quite persistent in his desire of the man's name, even going as far as challenging him should he refuse. Hell Mitsu was out for a workout, and from what he saw of those bandits, they probably wouldn't have qualified as a warmup.

"I didn't do it for you" The man stated simply, in fact he would have watched those bandits cut this man down had they accosted him first, it was none of his business after all. It seemed that his man wanted to get in his way though, clearly blocking his path. A hunter-nin? Some other foolhardy bandit... He couldn't be sure at this stage. "My name is Takeshi" He would only offer a first name, since that's all he had been given so far. With that out of the way he sigh as he realized exactly who this 'mysterious' man was "Though I imagine the Raikage could have dealt with those bandits, hrm?" It was hard to miss such a famous figure after all, particularly one of the village leaders. This was going to be a bother...

"Aye that he would, Divine Hand Takeshi, seeing as you are currently a wanted criminal and know exactly who I am, then you must understand I can't exactly let you go without a fight." Mitsukai would say, throwing his cloak off, there was no point in hiding his arsenal now, all fourteen blades were on display well, so long as one knew where to look, granted to most it would only seem like the Raikage carried ten of them, still far more than any one person had a right to wield at once. But that is where his preferred fighting style came in, choosing to discard his blades like they were Kunai or shuriken mid combat and drawing his next set until he was down to his favorite pair that is. Cloak gone, the illusion around his walking stick faded as well revealing the brown intricately carved staff that held two of his swords. "Of course you could always surrender peacefully, might even make a deal where you could join our village, as your crimes aren't exactly terrible."

Mitsukai already was in a defensive stance, he had a good feeling that Takeshi wouldn't go peacefully, in fact he would be kind of disappointed if he did, though either way the paperwork increase would be bad. The raikage's normally blue eyes had already turned crimson, the tell tale tomoe appearing connected by a ring in them. His eyes were perceiving even the slightest muscle twitch before him, there was nothing this man could do to escape his sight.

"And you would risk issues with the Village Hidden in the Mist if I would join you?" The man hadn't even removed his hat at this stage, though Mitsukai could almost feel his gaze resting squarely on his own. "A foolish thing to do, and an offer I must decline" It was if something had snapped as the man went for his sword, with blinding speed he would strike on the draw, aiming to finish the battle in a single blow, the blade traveling from the sheath on his left hip to slash through to the right. However, it was all a ruse, even Mitsukai's sharingan would have trouble keeping up with the man's attack. The first strike was a feint, though not like the Raikage would have seen before. The man's sword would seem to vanish and in an instant his true strike would be revealed, Takeshi would be striking through the opposite side as he dashed past, attacking from the draw in an Iaido style strike as he had apparently done moments before. He doubted that this would be enough to finish of someone with the title of Kage, but it would be a good test of his abilities.

Mitsukai shrugged, the swordsman before him brought up a fair enough point, recruiting him would raise the ire of Kirigakure, though the young Uchiha was pretty sure he could alleviate that some what should the need arise. Seeing Takeshi reach for his sword Mitsukai's legs tensed, leaping back as the Swordsman drew his blade, catching the attack vanishing before it passed through where Mitsukai was standing not one second prior, The true attack appearing from the other side, thankfully the Kage had leaped far enough back to avoid that one, Lashing out Mitsukai would attempt to bring his staff down on Takeshi's right wrist as the blade slashed through Mitsukai's previous position.

Should that counter fail to disarm the swordsman Mitsukai would thrust out with his staff, aiming strikes at assorted pressure points on Takeshi's body, aiming for the nerve clusters where the shoulders connect to the torso, as well as just above the hips, and below the sternum. Eight strikes in total, each one aimed at the most open of those five points, yet never the same one twice sequentially.

Takeshi didn't seem phased at all that the Uchiha had dodged his strike, in fact it would have been boring if he had bee struck down by his first attack. However, the counter-attack was less than impressive, and by the time Mitsukai had tried to bring down his staff down Takeshi had shifted his stance. It would seem unsettling though how the swordsman would deal with his next series of attacks, it was as if his moves were being read before they even happened, with the end of the staff finding nothing but air as the rogue would barely dodge away from each strike. The Raikage would feel as though he was fighting a fellow clansmen almost, however what he was seeing was years of battle and experience, not simply winning the genetic lottery. As the last strike would come along, Takeshi would counter by striking through at just the right moment, both knocking the weapon aside to open his opponents guard as he tried to simply run him through.

Mitsukai was not surprised that his counter had failed to disarm his foe, nor was he surprised that his following attacks had failed to do any damage, each strike missing the slippery swordsman by a hair, though Takeshi's movements spoke of his unfathomable experience more than any special traits like the special eyes that Mitsukai himself possessed. Those same eyes that saw the Takeshi's counter coming, swatting Mitsukai's last strike to one side the swordsman attempted to run the raikage through. Mitsukai's Sharingan had picked up on every minute detail of his opponent allowing him to predict the strike. Following the momentum of Takeshi's swat, Mitsu turned his pole-arm deflecting the incoming stab before leaping backwards breaking away from Takeshi, grabbing one end of his Staff Mitsukai would twist and yank forth one of its hidden blades, He would keep the other sheathed int he hard wood of the staff, wielding it like a club in his left hand. "Well that was a fun Warmup."

With that said Mitsukai would rush in, leading with the still sheathed blade of in his left hand, wielding it he would swing to break Takeshi's guard before following up with the blade, striking into the opening that he created.

A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai) Empty Re: A Cut above the rest.. (Takeshi vs Mitsukai)

The swordsman smiles as the raikage dodged his strike, it had been a long time since he had fought someone on his own level like this. The sharingan had always proved a problem, even less developed forms of the doujutsu could read most taijutsu styles. With a chuckle he steadied his stance, watching his opponent draw a blade from one end of the staff he had been carrying. A neat little trick, though possibly giving away a trump card of sorts. With the raikage taking the lead, Takeshi would watch carefully for whatever was to come next.

Though instead of blocking, Takeshi would reach out and catch the strike from the staff and take hold. With his blade held in one hand, he would attempt to wrench the staff from his grip. Carefully twisting to counter the direction that would allow the raikage to draw the presumably second hidden blade using some guesswork seeing the initial blades unsheating. With such a difference in physical strength, it would be difficult to put a stop to, but hopefully it would unbalance the Uchiha enough that the follow up attack would become impossible. Though if he did manage to follow through, it was simple enough to block the follow up strike with his own blade. Either way, with both arms locked he would follow up with a powerful straight kick to the chest to make some distance and set them back to a stalemate, hopefully with a second weapon for his efforts.
