Shape Transformation

Yin Release (陰遁, Inton, English TV: Shadow Style) is one of the two nature transformations that exist outside of the elemental circle, along with Yang Release. It is based on the spiritual energy that governs imagination and is created by altering the ratio of spiritual and physical energy in favour of the former.

Yang Release (陽遁, Yōton, English TV: Light Style) is one of the two nature transformations that exist outside of the elemental circle, along with Yin Release. It is based on the physical energy that governs vitality and is created by altering the ratio of spiritual and physical energy in favour of the latter.

Yin–Yang Release (陰陽遁, In'yōton, Onmyōton, English TV: Shadow and Light Style) techniques make simultaneous use of Yin Release and Yang Release. Yin relates to one's spiritual energy and Yang relates to one's physical energy, and it's necessary to utilise both of these in order to mould chakra for ninjutsu. As such, the basis of simply kneading chakra and using techniques is based in Yin-Yang Release.

Shape transformation (形態変化, Keitai Henka, English TV: Change in Chakra Form) is an advanced form of chakra control that involves changing the form and movement of chakra, determining the size, range, and purpose of a technique.

The ultimate example of shape manipulation is the Rasengan, which is described as shape manipulation that has been taken "to the highest possible level". The Rasengan relies heavily on chakra control and does not require the use of hand seals. By building up on precepts learned from the Tree Climbing Practice and Water Surface Walking Practice chakra control exercises, the Rasengan is chakra that has been rotated and then compressed into the shape of a sphere.

Shape transformation is one of two necessary components for creating or modifying a technique, the second component being nature transformation. While shape transformation changes the form and movement of chakra, nature transformation changes the actual nature of the chakra, altering its properties and characteristics. Because of this, a technique like the Rasengan can be turned into the Wind Release: Rasengan or Wind Release: Rasenshuriken. The cutting nature of Wind Release, combined with the spiralling movement of chakra, can change the chakra into millions of minuscule blades in a spiralling formation.



We do not allow techniques which solely manipulate Yin or Yang energies, nor Combinations of the two. Techniques which manipulate their energies by proxy, such as Genjutsu and Medical Ninjutsu manipulating Yin energies, are allowed and fair game. Shape Transformation techniques, such as Rasengan and Extending the Length of your Weapons by applying Chakra to them, are also allowed. The element, in regards to these, would simply be Null.
